MCE Bank: core infrastructure rebuilt across two data centers, with no single point of failure.
What we did
Several core components had reached end of support, and the architecture had no redundancy. In an outage there would have been no failover. We rebuilt the infrastructure across two sites, every step inside the tight maintenance windows and documented to audit standard. At the end there was a jointly reviewed stability record with figures.

ACM AIR CHARTER: Proxmox and Ceph brought back into support, without stopping flight operations.
What we did
The platform ran stably, but several major versions behind the supported release. In an EASA-regulated environment that means no security updates and no escalation path, and so it becomes a compliance issue. Charter, AOG standby and maintenance run around the clock, and there was no maintenance window. We updated in verified intermediate steps, took nodes out of the cluster one at a time and migrated the machines live while doing so. On the storage side, data integrity came before speed.

Hanebutt Group: from VMware to Proxmox VE in six weeks, run by their own team.
What we did
The new VMware licensing turned a question of cost into a question of dependence. The Hanebutt Group chose Proxmox VE but did not yet have the specialist knowledge in house. We built the platform together with them and trained the team along the way, so that it could take over operations itself after six weeks.

IHK Düsseldorf: an end-of-life platform replaced over a single weekend.
What we did
The virtualization platform was at the end of its lifecycle, while member administration, examination processes and digital services for 80,000 member companies had to stay available. For a public institution with a duty to serve, a standstill of several days is not an option. We prepared for four weeks and then carried out the switch over one weekend.

START NRW: the operating load handed over, without losing authority over data and infrastructure.
What we did
After a restructuring the IT was fragmented, and knowledge left the company with the IT manager. The obvious answer would have been full outsourcing, and that was exactly what they did not want. We consolidated the landscape to a sensible size, left the infrastructure in the company's ownership and set up an operating model with clear roles. Compliance evidence for ISO 9001, SCP and AZAV can be produced from the system ever since.

MEKU Group: an IT carve-out under insolvency conditions, every subsidiary ready to hand over.
What we did
After the insolvency the subsidiaries still hung off a shared Active Directory, SAP and network. For buyers that was a deal breaker. We separated the shared services step by step, simulated every separation in the lab beforehand and let production keep running throughout. When the previous IT provider dropped out in the middle of the process, we moved the infrastructure into a neutral data center within a few days.
