Reuse VMware hosts.
We check CPUs, memory, drives, controllers and NICs, including firmware, support life and spare capacity. Previous VMware certification does not replace assessment for Proxmox.
Not every platform change needs new servers and storage.
We assess your servers, vSAN hardware and SAN systems, plan the target environment and deliver the move to Proxmox. Suitability, remaining service life and capacity during migration determine what can stay.
Assess your existing environmentReusing hardware does not mean retaining datastores and storage software unchanged.

vSAN is not retained as a storage platform in Proxmox. After assessment, the hardware may be suitable for Ceph, for example. We evaluate drives, controllers, networking and data placement during the transition.
For Fibre Channel or iSCSI, we assess connectivity, multipathing and an appropriate storage method. Snapshots, backup and vendor support are evaluated for the specific combination.
The data needs to move too. Reusing an existing SAN does not mean running VMware datastores unchanged under Proxmox. We plan target storage areas, transfer methods and the required interim capacity.
We compare options against your environment. Available capacity, redundancy, maintenance windows and total cost determine the approach.
Suitable where workloads can safely run on remaining resources. Before each change, we check that capacity and redundancy remain sufficient.
Additional resources bridge the transition. Provisioning, data transfer and removal are planned together. This is not automatically cheaper than new hardware.
Useful when the existing estate has little spare capacity or is due for replacement. The old environment remains available until agreed acceptance.
You receive an assessment of reusable components and a proposed architecture and transition plan. We identify effort, necessary additions and outstanding prerequisites.
Commission assessment and implementation separately
Expiring support, worn drives, limited performance headroom or complex interim solutions can make reuse unattractive. We compare not just purchase costs but migration effort and future operations.
No. Suitability for vSAN does not automatically mean suitability for Ceph. Drives, controllers, networking and available capacity must fit the planned Ceph design. Moving data out of vSAN is planned and tested separately.
That depends on the system and configuration. We plan separate, suitable storage areas for the target platform. Uncoordinated writes by both platforms to the same disks are not a migration method.
Server and storage models, versions, capacity and utilisation, networking, support dates and the intended migration window. Credentials are not needed for the initial enquiry.
Technical references: Proxmox migration documentation and storage documentation. Suitability is assessed against the specific versions and components.
Tell our experts about your existing estate and why you want to change. In the initial conversation, we define the assessment needed. The technical assessment is commissioned separately.
