THE PROJECT
Starting point and requirements.
Presto Humus operates three sites in the circular economy. Broadband was unavailable at two production sites.
Digitising production required all plants to be connected. With no broadband at two sites, the platform, connectivity and desktops were planned together.
NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS
The required systems must remain accessible even at sites without broadband.
IMPLEMENTATION
What Sysfacts took on.
Recorded what was actually running at each site, from applications and data flows to network connections
Connected both plants to the main network through Starlink and encrypted tunnels, with 5G as a second path
Set up a central RDP environment. Sessions run in the data centre; only the display output travels over the site connection
Built the Proxmox VE platform, a new Windows domain and Microsoft 365 in parallel

Sites and connections
One main site and two production sites needed to work together. The plants without broadband were connected using Starlink and encrypted tunnels. Each also has 5G as a second connection.

Platform and backup
A Proxmox VE environment with Ceph and Proxmox Backup Server was built in parallel. A new Windows domain based on Windows Server 2025 and Microsoft 365 complete the platform.

Centralised desktops
RDP sessions run in the data centre. The site connection carries display output rather than running the full applications on remote desktops.

Use in production
The connections support the planned SAP transactions in daily use. All three sites are on the corporate network. The internal team manages the platform itself.
